Mammography table accessories
Design for a medical device to be used for MRI breast cancer
diagnosis.
Major considerations on the design were FDA regulations, the
possibility to autoclave parts that might have been contaminated
during biopsies, ergonomics (for medical personnel and patient) and
MRI constraints (the use of ferrous metals near the emitting coil
had to be avoided in order to prevent artifacts).
The meshed paddles you see on some of the images had to
provide sufficient support and allow for good imaging without
being to uncomfortable.
To accommodate varying anatomical conditions, adjustability was a
main focus.
